Unit 6: Applications of Derivatives 2
Learning Outcome: Use derivatives for optimization and finding limits. Use implicit differentiation to find derivatives of inverse functions. Find antiderivatives.
Performance Criteria:
- Solve applied optimization problems.
To work on this, begin working on Assignment 7. I have designed it to try to lead you through the various types of problems slowly, and with guidance from reading or watching videos.
- Maximizing area of a field. Minimizing fencing cost.
- Maximizing volume of a box made by cutting out corners of a sheet.
- Maximizing volume of a box or can with given surface area. Minimizing surface area of a box or can with given volume.
- Minimizing cost of a box or can with given surface area.
- Use implicit differentiation to find derivatives of inverse trig functions.
- Find anti-derivatives.
