Math 321 Exam 1 Preparation
- The exam will cover Chapters 1 and 2 of the textbook.
- You will be given a clean formula sheet for the exam. You may use your calculator, but cell phones are not allowed.
- You may listen to music with ear buds during the exam, as long as the music can't be heard by others in the room.
- Here is Exam 1 from a previous term, and here are the solutions.
- We have learned two techniques for solving first order equations, separation of variables and the integrating factor method. A good way to practice those would be to watch some of the videos until the problem is given, then pause them and try to solve yourself. Then go straight to the answer to see how you did, or watch the solution.
- You also could use the same idea for applications and for verifying solutions.
- Here are specific exercises on the things that will be on the exam, by sections. You will likely not have time to do all of them, but make sure to do a fairly random sampling.
